My Journey with IT Varsity: From Uncertainty to Digital Confidence
Learning Digital Skills, Building Confidence, and Finding My Purpose
When I first joined IT Varsity, I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I did know was that my curiosity for the digital world was growing, and I wanted to learn more about technology, coding, and digital entrepreneurship.
Like many beginners stepping into tech, I started my journey filled with excitement but also a little fear of the unknown.
The Challenge: Learning WordPress
The first eight modules of the IT Varsity Digital Entrepreneurship Course were quite manageable. Many of the topics were familiar to me, and I felt confident moving through them.
But then came Module 9... WordPress.
That’s when the real challenge began.
I had previously built a small website using Systeme.io, without any formal training, just a few YouTube tutorials and a lot of determination. But WordPress was something else entirely.
It was confusing, frustrating, and honestly made me consider quitting the course. But deep down, I knew that if I stopped now, I’d regret it.
So I pushed through.
Eventually, after trial and error, I started to understand how WordPress works from themes and plugins to layouts and hosting. And once I got the hang of it, it wasn’t as intimidating as it first seemed.
Still, if I’m honest, WordPress isn’t my favorite platform and I’ll probably stick to other website builders for my future projects.
Then came Modules 10 to 12, and everything changed.
That’s when I discovered coding and unexpectedly, I fell in love with it.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d enjoy writing code, but there I was, creating projects, testing ideas, and watching my work come to life. Learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript was exciting, empowering, and eye-opening.
I’ll share links to some of my work below for anyone curious to see how my coding journey unfolded.
Completing those modules opened a part of my brain I never knew existed, a side that’s creative, logical, and eager to keep learning.
I’m truly grateful to IT Varsity for this experience. It gave me real-world digital skills, boosted my confidence, and helped me see that I can build a future in tech.
Alhamdulillah, I completed my IT Varsity Digital Entrepreneurship Course, and I couldn’t be prouder of myself.
This wasn’t just about learning tech, it was about growth, mindset, and discovering my passion.
So, what’s next in Fay’s Journey?
As I continue planning and strategizing my next steps in the digital space, I am in the process of building something close to my heart. A new chapter rooted in intention, growth and barakat.
I look forward to sharing it with you very soon, in Sha Allah.
My time at IT Varsity taught me that every challenge hides a lesson, and every struggle leads to growth.
Whether it was learning WordPress, understanding coding basics, or juggling motherhood and studies, I learned to trust myself and the process.
To anyone considering enrolling in a digital course or joining IT Varsity, my advice is simple: START. You may not know everything right away, but once you push through, you’ll discover skills and confidence you never knew you had.
